2017 Wrap up and 2018 Aspirations

2017 Wrap up and 2018 Aspirations

First of all, happy new year guys!! This is a little bit late already since it’s already January 4, but yeah.. better late than never right?

I know I’m not updating my blog these past days. I don’t want to promise I’ll be blogging more often this year but what I’m sure of is that I’ll still document my travels this year.. which reminds me that my Kuala Lumpur travel is not yet done.

2017 is the year of everything for me!! It’s insane because I’m crossing off bucket lists while at the same time slacking in some aspects of my life. For one, I completely ignored my health. I wasn’t really exercising and I gained a lot of weight! Love-hate relationship with food goes on. There’s just too much be done. So yep..

Here’s a recap of the awesome year I had.

January - Finally traveled with my high school friends. We went to Bacolod, Iloilo, and Guimaras. Also my first time to see and attend Dinagyang festival. It was a looot fun! Also climbed Mt. Balagbag and it’s one of the most visited blog posts here on my blog.

February - Went to Marian Orchard for a quick weekend day trip and was also able to try Dreamland arts and crafts cafe. Plus… it’s Valentines.

March - Finally traveled solo for the first time. Went to Roxas city, did island hopping in Isla de Gigantes and met some few folks. It was an experience to remember. Also had mumps during this time and I was still recovering when I went to Roxas City.

April - Went on a backpacking trip to Hanoi, Luang Prabang, Vientiane, and Bangkok with my father. This is very memorable because I’m slowly crossing off my Southeast Asia bucket list. Who would’ve thought I’ll see Laos - Luang Prabang - soon? I was able to explore Bangkok more. I felt like a local there. Rode overnight buses and ate local street food. Southeast Asia backpacking is a must do at least once in your life. It’s an eyeopener to the big world we live in.

Peter and I celebrated our 4th year anniversary in Crosswinds Tagaytay. We still fight over nonsense stuff but we’re definitely stronger now.

May - Finally went to see Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur!! I only see it in pictures and I can’t believe I already saw it up close. We also had an amazing Airbnb accommodation wherein the infinity pool is overlooking Petronas towers and KLCC tower.

June - No more travels for this year. Except my supposed to be Tacloban that I didn’t push through. For the month of June onwards, it’s all about work and starting my skincare routine. Ever since, I am only using a trusted cleanser and moisturizer. Never did I use added products so when it’s taking a toll on me, I realized I also have to invest in my skin. And now, writing this down, I regret I didn’t use sunscreen sooner! It’s also fun trying new products and I’m lucky I haven’t had any breakouts yet with products I’ve used.

July - Attended CBTL’s Art of Tea. A tea appreciation workshop. I will always be a tea person (except for days I need a boost in energy).

September - Underwent LASIK surgery!!! Probably one of the best highlights! Still can’t believe I’m eyeglass free. It’s really funny when I look and see my old pictures wearing glasses. Wearing specs ever since I was a child, this whole experience is very life changing.

November - Turned a year older. Life gets faster when your getting older.

Recalling that’s all that happened is impossible. I’m glad I’m really documenting my travels! haha. I know how it feels to forget memorable stuff so it really pays to write it down. Overall, 2017 is something! It surprised me. Also learned a lot of stuff. Though at the end of it all, I believe this isn’t one of the best years. Not that something bad happened.. I just believe that it’s not yet the best year for me. It’s still out there coming for me.. maybe 2018? :)

So speaking of 2018..

I won’t write much because I want to keep all my goals and aspirations private this time. I just believe that 2018 is my best year yet. I believe it will give me a dozen opportunities so I’ll just do my thing and pray.

Every year is different. And while I always aim to be a better person, this year I want to take it a notch higher. I also believe there’s a big surprise for me this year. I can feel it. (LOL feeler lang).

So yepp.. there you go. Happy New Year everyone! Continue to create great memories. No more sharing of resolutions because I don’t really have a detailed resolution. Just action items to have the best year yet.

Live a life well traveled.
