Tagaytay: Crosswinds Resort Suites

Tagaytay: Crosswinds Resort Suites

If you want a truly calm and home away from home type of staycation then Crosswinds in Tagaytay is the place to be. The place is tucked in a very quiet neighborhood making it a very peaceful place to unwind and de-stress. You know, the kind that makes it hard to get out of bed and just lets you be in your own kind of bliss.

We got our passes to this luxurious staycation at a travel expo last February and we definitely got good deals as we got this for buy 1 take 1. We can also use the voucher anytime we want as long as it’s within validity date. In short, we only paid for one night but we are to avail two nights! How’s that? One of the reasons why I love travel expos. You just really have to look for the best deals. We also had the choice to use it on separate days or use the voucher consecutively. For this stay, we used one voucher.

So fast forward, I used the voucher last April (yup, another backlog, sorry 😓) and took the chance to celebrate a special occasion in Tagaytay. By the way, Crosswinds Resort Suites is managed by HII, the same company that manages Azumi Boutique Hotel, Picasso, and a lot more.

The view from our balcony

I am not really into staycations because I think it is too luxurious for me and that instead of spending money on these kinds of stuff, it would be better to just save it. BUT! Some things have changed! Lol. The story of this starts way back 2015 when me and my college friend, Nadine, went to travel expo to catch a deal for SG.

However, over time, I learned that travel expo doesn’t really let you have good airfare deals. Yep, there are many promos and deals but those deals are still beyond our budget. It is still better to wait for piso fair and pray you get tickets on your preferred date.

So when we couldn’t find a good SG deal, we opt to look for a good staycation promo. And during that time, what we got was a good deal at Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay. Since then, it became our tradition every year to come to travel expos and look for good staycation deals. Hence, our vouchers for Crosswinds Resort Suites and Sphere (soon to be opened serviced apartment in Makati, under HII too).

The Swiss neighborhood
Chilling on the balcony ~

I had problems in communicating at first with regards to the reservation as no one is answering the hotel’s phone. It is only after emailing that I got a confirmation with our booking.

I soooo love the room we got! It can actually accommodate 4 but the inclusions in the voucher are for 2 people only. It also already comes with a free breakfast. The room is quite spacious and I definitely love the beddings, sooo comfy! But what I liked the most on this stay is the breathtaking view we got from our room’s balcony! Pine trees are everywhere! Also, the neighborhood sticks to its own theme. The Swiss theme definitely adds to the cozy vibes in the neighborhood.

The main entrance
Hi, there! :)

What seems to be the only turn off is that since it is inside Crosswinds Tagaytay, you need to take a shuttle to the main road if you want to go outside its vicinity. Same when you’re going back to the hotel. And if you’re staying out late night, you might encounter problems going back to the hotel if you don’t have your own car with you as there might be no more shuttles to fetch you and bring you back to the hotel. We had some minor problems going to the hotel because we’re just commuting but upon seeing the room, well, it was worth it. :)

If you’re quite bored inside the room, they also have an outdoor swimming pool, playground for kids, Christmas village which comes to life during Christmas season, and a coffee shop. One thing to note too is that they don’t serve food except for breakfast which comes with the booking.

Our room
The kitchen area equipped with basic cooking stuff

Most of the houses btw are not occupied. Maybe the owners are not home?

So if you’re coming here, either you bring your own food or you go out and eat. Good thing is that Tagaytay have lots of well-loved restaurants so you will definitely have a lot of choices to choose from. And if you don’t fancy eating out, the rooms come with its own kitchen so you can cook something you like.

And because both I and boyf cannot cook, we had a date night at Charito by Bag of Beans.

Breakfast, on the other hand, has a good variety of selection. For me, I enjoyed the breakfast. For non-rice eaters like me, there are other choices for you like cereals, bread, pancakes, etc. The ambiance of the breakfast place also true to the Swiss theme.

The place is just serene making it hard to leave the next day. It feels like a one night stay is not enough for you to enjoy the place. So guys, if you ever saw HII in travel expos, grab their promos right away as it won’t disappoint. The voucher we bought for Sphere was supposed to be used this year. However, since the serviced apartment is not yet open, it is postponed until next year. I am not complaining though.. I’m sure it will just be another great staycation.

So how to get to Crosswinds from Manila you ask?

For those who have cars, just use Waze. :)

For those who are commuting, just ride a DTLB bus from their Buendia terminal going to Nasugbu, alight at Tagaytay (Olivarez), then from there, you can either ride a tricycle or ride a jeep from the terminal going to People’s Park. Tell the driver to drop you off at Crosswinds.

Also, if you are commuting, be sure to tell the hotel in advance to have a shuttle fetch you at the main gate on your preferred time so you won’t have to walk (because trust me, it’s not feasible, lol)  You can also approach one of the guards and tell them you’re heading to the hotel and request for a shuttle.

So there… If you’re looking for a place to stay and relax over the weekend, you might want to consider Crosswinds Resort Suites. Tell them you find them here on my blog! ;)
