Our last day in Hong Kong was luckily, also my mother’s birthday. So in the back of my head, yey.. birthday treat! haha! We don’t have any scheduled activity for the day but we’re thinking of going to Sky Terraces 428 as well as visit Madame Tussauds. We didn’t book our tickets in the Klookapp for this one because we’re still not sure if we will visit these prior to the planning of this trip. Luckily, the caretaker of the inn we’re staying at is selling discounted tickets of different Hong Kong tourist spots. I forgot how much we saved when we bought our tickets from her but what I can remember is it is still cheaper if we buy our tickets from the Klook app.
We just went to Sky Terraces 428 and see the overlooking view of Hong Kong. It was all skyscrapers and it was foggy when we got to the top. We didn’t went to Madame Tussauds because a lot of people already told me that there’s nothing fancy inside. Just wax figures of celebrities and the price of the ticket is not worth the attraction inside. Too bad, wanted to see Taylor’s Swift wax body inside pa naman.* At least if not the real Taylor, her wax counterpart can make it up for it. I was kinda sad about it. When me and my father went to Thailand, I also wanted to visit Madame Tussauds Bangkok but we ran out of time when we’re in Bangkok so we weren’t able to go.. and now that we’re in HK, I also weren’t able to see what’s inside. Maybe some other time and some other country.

The tickets we bought already consists of a round trip ride on the Peak Tram, and an entrance pass to Sky Terraces 428. Not bad though. To start the day, we went to the terminal of peak tram.. which by the way is the transportation to Victoria Peak and Sky Terraces 428. Sky Terraces on the other hand is the highest viewing deck in all of Hong Kong! Standing in 428 meters above sea level, this viewing deck has surely already wowed many visitors. If you’re into fancy city lights like me, it’s best to visit this viewing deck at night to see the amazing Hong Kong skyline. As for us, we went here before lunch so what welcomed us is a view of tall skyscrapers covered with fog. But it’s not like the fog we saw in Ngong Ping village. This one is tolerable.

On the way to Victoria Peak.

Was able to take a photo of an empty tram.

Upon alighting Peak Tram, you will see the Victoria Peak where a lot of Hong Kong souvenirs are sold. There are also high end stores and restaurants for your shopping needs. We went straight to the highest floor and entered the famous viewing deck. It didn’t disappoint us! There’s also an audio tour available where you will be given an interactive touch screen device and from there, you will choose your preferred language.

Insert Top of the World by Imagine Dragons here. :D

Tourists taking their selfies and picture souvenirs.

After taking some photo ops time, we celebrated my mother’s birthday and ate our lunch in one of Victoria Peak’s restaurant. The restaurant actually has a good deal and the food is yummy! Much better than the one we ate at Disneyland.. and definitely cheaper but the serving is more generous since part of it is a buffet of salad, cold cuts, soup, and dessert.

One of the best pepperoni pizza I’ve had. Cheesy.

Our all in one ticket to the Peak Tram and Sky Terraces 428.

While waiting for the tram going down.

As for the other half of the day, we just went to different street markets and bought some pasalubong *and souvenirs. There’s the ladies market that comes to life during night time.
It was definitely an awesome vacation in Hong Kong. And I definitely would like to come back. But not so soon I guess. My next out of the country is still scheduled next year but as early as now, I’m quite excited for that travel because it would be my first time to visit that country. Then there are 2 local travels coming up but it’s still months away.
Can we just travel and forget everything?
