Hello Mindanao! Wow.. this is my first time in Mindanao and it felt like I left Philippines in a few days. Lol. I should remind myself that Philippines isn’t only Metro Manila. It was a really fun weekend. So many firsts on this trip. Well, for starters, my first time in Mindanao, first time to travel via plane with my college friends, and many more. As I go along narrating our trip, I might mention some new firsts for me. :)
Our flight to Cagayan de Oro was early in the morning. And so when we landed in the Laguindingan Airport, we were transferred immediately to Camiguin to begin our countryside trip in the afternoon. Believe me, it was a loooooooong travel to Camiguin from Cagayan de Oro. I suggest if you’re exploring Camiguin most of your time, just a book a plane ticket to Camiguin directly instead of going from CDO. From CDO, 2 to 3 hour land travel and 1 hr boat travel. From the port, we started our countryside tour and had our lunch at one of our itinerary.
First stop is the Sto. Nino Cold Spring. This is where we had our lunch. There’s a paluto *here wherein you will choose your viand and they will cook it for you while you either swim in the cold spring or just soak in your feet. It was very relaxing especially from all the travel we had since the morning that day. There are also mini fishes kissing? our feet. I don’t know if they’re really kissing our feet or trying to get rid of our dead skin. Haha. Gross.
Food is so-so. Reasonable price if you’re in a large group. There’s no time to complain about the food. We’re in a different place so we need to blend in. It’s just that when you’re a budget traveller, you tend to look or think if it’s sulit *or not.
Also, if you’re buying t-shirts as pasalubong, there are stalls selling outside just for hundred bucks. But it you’re on a tighter budget, there are t-shirts as well in the White Beach for only 90 pesos.

#tawapamore!

Our next stop was the Tuasan Falls which by the way is ah-may-zing! We really enjoyed it here. It wasn’t that big but well.. who doesn’t like falls anyway.
Next is the Soda Swimming Pool. Why soda? when we asked the staff there, she said it was named like that because it tastes like soda without the sugar. I can’t imagine how it tastes. I just enjoyed the water while some of friends actually tried it. HAHA! They said it tastes like kalawang*. LOl. Too many pools in one day but it doesn’t there!
We also went to the Gui-Ob Old Church Ruins and Sunken Cementary.
You haven’t been to Camiguin if you don’t visit the Sunken Cementary and the White beach!! Sunset around the Sunken Cementery is sooooo nice. You should see it in person! We didn’t ride a boat to the cross but it was still amazing from afar. Kudos to the kuya who took our cool instragram worthy photos.
Very peaceful, isn’t it?
Last stop for the day is the Ardent Hot Spring. The place is already dark when we got in because it’s already past 6 and the lighting’s around the resort isn’t that very bright. But nonetheless, it was relaxing. I just don’t have a picture of it because it wouldn’t be that visible in the picture btw.
After the whole day of travelling and swimming on different bodies of water, we checked in at Pabualan Cottages. Kuya Teddy is very nice! and accommodating too. The place is also clean and comfortable.
This is just our first day. We still have to tour the White Beach, CDO, as well as Bukidnon.
And if you’re not yet convinced whether you should visit Camiguin or not, wait for my next travel posts! Decide no more. HAHA!
